I enjoy collecting and discussing binoculars and wish others the same pleasure. The binocular is nicely collimated with a clear view.

The build quality and optical performance of this binocular is very good. 1 degrees meters 1,000 meters exit pupil 7mm weight 1,010 gr dimensions l x MM x 190mm coated lenses no focus type individual, center, fixed individual focus history and condition the nikko marking on the left prism plate shows this binocular was made by nippon kogaku which is today known as Nikon.

It is clean inside with no fungus, dust or debris.

The exterior surfaces of the objective lenses and eye lenses are in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The hinge adjustment is stiff and somewhat uneven but still perfectly functional.

In picture 4 note the large screw in the top of each hinge lug. Do not hesitate to ask questions.

The prisms are un chipped. Final shipping cost cannot be known until the item is taken to the post office and sent. Shipping costs quoted by prior to sale are estimates since to determine actual shipping cost, buyer's address must be known. This binocular is exactly like nippon kogaku's WW ii imperial naval binoculars except for the Novar marking in roman letters on the right prism plate and was most likely manufactured from surplus parts directly after the end of the war.

It comes with a leather carrying case which is not original to the binocular but the binocular fits well in it. The binocular shows very minor external wear and paint loss and there is a very small dent on the right cover plate. Both the serial number and 7x49 configuration later post war Novas were 7x50's indicate very early post war production.

The paint on the cover plates still has its original luster and is very attractive. There is no mold or nicotine smell. Focus adjustments are smooth.
